Simpsons Food Sampled by Sethifus!

I went to Universal Orlando Resort!

Formerly Universal Studios Orlando.

They had real Simpsons food there!

I ate and drank some!

Here are my reviews in order!

1. Krusty Burger

I tried a Krusty Burger and original Duff a couple years ago (read about it here!)

I still stand by what I said. Krusty Burger is awesome. It tastes soooooo good. I love the sauce and the fact that they put a sweet pickle on top. Yum!

2. Krusty Ribwich

The Ribwich was also very, very good! It's not in one big slab like in the cartoon

It was in a lot of little, tasty chunks.

I thought I got more pictures of it, but apparently I did not.

I guess I only took 4 hasty pics so as to not draw too much attention to myself in a public place.

3. Duff Beer!

Man, do I love Duff Beer.

If it was widely available, I'd always have it in my fridge.

It tastes sort of like Samual Adams Boston Lager, but a little different than that.

It's not the best beer, but it is my favorite beer.

4. Duff Lite

This Duff is more how I thought all Duff would taste. Weak and watered-down. Not much flavor, but you could probably drink 10 in one sitting.

I wouldn't buy Duff Lite myself, but I wouldn't turn it down if someone offered it to me.

5. Duff Dry

My-oh-my Duff Dry!

I would buy this frequently, too. Princess Melawesome said it was her favorite of the 3 Duffs. She helped me eat the burger and the ribwich as well!

I'm not sure what other beer to compare it too. It tastes like other "dry" beers I've had. All I can say is that it's really good.

That's it for this set of reviews!

I would love to go back and try some more of the defictionalized foods from downtown Springfield, but that will have to wait until I've paid off this trip.

If you have any requests for deficitionalized product reviews, ideas for "made real" segments, or just want to tell me how handsome I am, please leave a comment below or send me an e-mail at sethifusp@gmail.com

Made Real: the Simpsons - Nuts and Gum, and SkittleBrau!

I love the Simpsons!

That's why I'm trying as hard as I can to make as much of the Simpson Universe real as possible!

So I made a couple videos.

In the first I make Nuts and Gum a reality:

It's gross!

In the second video I make Homer's dream beer: SkittleBrau!

(there are no pictures of SkittleBrau. It was never shown on screen)

SkittleBrau tastes really good!

I forgot to mention that the Skittles don't actually float in the beer! They stay at the bottom!

So Homer's true SkittleBrau will remain a dream drink.

Oh well.

That's it for now!

The Flaming Homer (nee Moe)! A review!

From the youtubes:

In this video I make and review Homer's drink creation: The Flaming Homer (nee Moe)!

You can see my review of the Flaming Moe Energy Drink here: https://youtu.be/OS4u1Q6qmkg

And read my review of the Flaming Moe bubbly nonalcoholic drink from Universal Studios here: http://www.pondercouch.com/2015/02/days-35-41-7-universal-studios.html

And there's lots more stuff on http://www.pondercouch.com! You should go check it out!

It tasted grape. Medicinal grape.

I found as many of the bottles of alcohol that Homer had as I could, but I'm sure I missed a few.

Day 246 - Geeking Out on Properties - 9/4/2015

Missed a few days.

Here goes some catch-ups.

Today's (Friday's) Thing-a-Day Thing is a list of 10 things I am obsessed with and would buy everything related to it if I had the money and space to display/store it.

(all pictures from google image searches)

1. Bozo the Clown!

I used to watch Bozo the Clown on WGN every day before school. My Bozo was Joey D'Auria.

The reason I became obsessed with Bozo was because I liked the show and Bart Simpson idolized Krusty the Clown.

I love the Simpsons so I wanted to be like Bart and "idolize" Bozo the Clown!

2. The Simpsons.

I mean, who isn't still obsessed with the Simpsons?

3. Bill and Ted!

Loved the cartoon, got this shirt, watched and loved the movies, cereal, comics, and horrible live action TV series!

Look forward to the sequel!

4. Ghostbusters!

Loved the cartoon. Loved the toys. Miss Ecto Cooler like crazy! Watched the movies 10 million times. Have enjoyed the games and any other merch I've consumed recently.

Love the idea of the new movie!

Hopefully there will be lots and LOTS of new merch!

I loved Filmation's Ghostbusters, too!

5. He-Man!

One of my first obsessions! I loved this cartoon with all of my heart. I saw the Secret of the Sword in theaters and loved it. I saw the live action movie and loved it (even though it's kind of terrible and not much like the cartoon). I had many of the toys, but I never got the Slime Pit or the Fright Zone. :(

I have enjoyed the newest cartoon and the handful of the new comics that I've read.

I hope another live action movie gets made, this time with Orko!

6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

As with the Simpsons, I think pretty much everybody around my age was in love with, and still is in love with, all thing Turtles!

I didn't hate the new movie, but I miss everything they changed/left out.

7. Roger Rabbit!

I've covered my love for Roger before.

8. My Pet Monster!

Again, see other posts!

9. All of the old Nick Toons!

I miss them all!

This extends to all of the old Nick programming, too.

10. Calvin and Hobbes!

If you've followed the Ponder Couch at all, you've likely read about my great love of all thing Calvin and Hobbes.

That's it!

There are many other things I'm obsessed with (Peanuts comics, all kinds of bands, Tiki culture, Homestar Runner...), but I said I was going to list 10, and these are the first 10 I thought of!

And there is always the WISHLIST!

Day 237 - Mister Sparkle! - 8/26/2015

Today's Thing-a-Day Thing is:

MIIIIIISTAAAAAAAR SPAAARKLLLLLLLLE!

Or, very likely, some ripoff of Mister Sparkle.

Like the generic store-specific band.

Maybe something like Sir Shine.

Day 233 - Made Real: The Simpsons: School Pennant! - 8/23/2105

Today's (yesterday's) Thing-a-Day Thing is this:

It's the "School" pennant Homer made in the "The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace" episode of the Simpsons.

See?

In the show Homer becomes obsessed with Thomas Edison and has to go to the library at the elementary school because he can't go to the adult library anymore because of reasons.

This was the longest pencil I could find.

It looks a little different than the one in the episode, but maybe if there were more shots of it one of them might look like this.

The Simpsons and things in their environment would change shape a bit from shot-to-shot.

That's my excuse...

Go School!

Day 213 - Contemplating Gulp 'n' Blow! - 8/2/2015

Today's Thing-a-Day Thing is (are?) my thoughts on Gulp 'n' Blow.

I've written quite a bit about my obsession with Duff Beer and the Krusty Burger from the Simpsons, but I haven't mentioned my interest-bordering-on-obsession with Gulp 'n' Blow, also from the Simpsons.

Gulp 'n' Blow is the other main fast food joint in Springfield. We don't know much about it other than it has a funny name. You can read the full summaries about it HERE, HERE, and HERE.

I'll just summarize that they have tacos and onion rings and Homer and Sideshow Mel have both worked there.

Here are some more images I found in my google image searches:

I dig the anthropomorphic food on the sign.

It looks like they have burgers and fries and salads and stuff too.

I wish we knew more. It only appears in a handful of episodes. I'm surprised they haven't used it in the show more often.

I'm also both surprised and not surprised that there is no Gulp 'n' Blow in Downtown Springfield.

I'm not surprised because it's not as well known as Krusty Burger or even the Frying Dutchman, but I am surprised because there is a restaurant owned by Cletus (?), Lisa apparently has a Tea House (??), and they gave Bumblebee Man a Taco Truck (?!?). Why they didn't make it a Gulp 'n' Blow Taco Truck I don't know. I mean, Gulp 'n' Blow tacos have been shown in the show. Does Bumblebee Man have a food truck or any kind of food establishment? Not that I've seen.

I guess that's all I have to write about Gulp 'n' Blow. If any of you have any more Gulp 'n' Blow info please share it in the comments!

Day 198 - Sethsaphone Mash-up Song! - 7/17/2015

Today's Thing-a-Day Thing is a Mash-up of "Baker Street" and "Careless Whisper"!

From the youtube description:

Baker Street is originally by Gerry Rafferty!

Careless Whisper is originally by George Michael!

This is a mash-up of both songs! Or at least their saxophone parts!

I play it on sethsaphone because I don't know how to play saxophone!

Enjoy!

More of things at http://www.pondercouch.com!

Here are the original songs:

I know Baker Street only from Lisa Simpson playing it in one episode of the Simpsons. I don't remember where I heard Careless Whisper for the first time.

These two saxophone parts always make me think of the Night Man Theme Song:

Now that I listen to it again, I'm not sure why they remind me of it. I used to think "Careless Whisper" was the Night Man Theme.  My memory doesn't always remember well.

If you want more sethsaphone covers of saxophone songs, just ask!

Day 197 - Can't Get Enough of that Wonderful Duff! - 7/16/2015

Duff Beer will be available!!!! In other countries... sigh...

If only they'd make it available here. I'd keep it in the fridge all the time. That is, if it tastes anything like the Duff in Universal Studios.

I don't know if it's really as good as it tasted or if it's just the fact that I was ACTUALLY DRINKING AN ACTUAL DUFF BEER!

Anyway, today's Thing-a-Day Thing is a photo tribute to Duff Beer! All the pics I can find on this computer and in the photo cache blog thing.

God-willing, some day soon this will be real. With real Duff Beer (not energy drink).
