3 Taste Test/Reviews!

I recently went to the best grocery store I've ever seen!

JUNGLE JIM'S!!!!!

It is amazing!

It's a huge store that has pretty much anything I could ever think of or want from a grocery store, plus it has animatronics and other weird decorations!

I was too overwhelmed to even know where to begin taking pictures. So check out the website  and if you ever find yourself in the Cincinnati/Fairfield Ohio area I highly, highly recommend, can not recommend enough that you check it out.

It's about 1 hour and 45 minutes from my house, and I will definitely be back.

Several times.


On this trip I got this haul:

Yes! They have Jelly Babies! When I see a package of Jelly Babies, I buy it.


I also got Jolly Ranchers Watermelon-flavored soda!

I didn't review that in a video. I drank it on the drive home. It's good! I'd drink it again.


But I did review the other 4 cans!

I think my favorite part of these reviews is that I got to use my new Ponder Couch Spit Bucket!

Big Lots! has Hydrox! - a taste test and review

Here's a review of the other 3 things:

* Party Jaffa Cakes - wonderful. Jaffa Cakes are one of the best things to eat.

* Dieffenbach's Coney Island Hot Dog Chips - These taste, to me, just like a hot dog! If they made a hot dog that tasted like potato chips you could eat the strangest, most interesting meal I can think of at the moment.

* Zapp's Potato Chips: New Orleans Kettle Style Voodoo chips - These are really good! To me they taste like Ruffles All Dressed Chips and the Whole Shebang Chips. Tangy, a bit smokey, and muddled in a good way.





Not bad for under $10 (with a full-priced bottle of soda)...

I'd still rather have found more Ecto Cooler...

Juicy Juice = Ecto Cooler?!

I did a new taste test.

Simpsons Food Sampled by Sethifus!

I went to Universal Orlando Resort!

Formerly Universal Studios Orlando.

They had real Simpsons food there!

I ate and drank some!

Here are my reviews in order!

1. Krusty Burger

I tried a Krusty Burger and original Duff a couple years ago (read about it here!)

I still stand by what I said. Krusty Burger is awesome. It tastes soooooo good. I love the sauce and the fact that they put a sweet pickle on top. Yum!

2. Krusty Ribwich

The Ribwich was also very, very good! It's not in one big slab like in the cartoon

It was in a lot of little, tasty chunks.

I thought I got more pictures of it, but apparently I did not.

I guess I only took 4 hasty pics so as to not draw too much attention to myself in a public place.




3. Duff Beer!

Man, do I love Duff Beer.

If it was widely available, I'd always have it in my fridge.

It tastes sort of like Samual Adams Boston Lager, but a little different than that.

It's not the best beer, but it is my favorite beer.

4. Duff Lite

This Duff is more how I thought all Duff would taste. Weak and watered-down. Not much flavor, but you could probably drink 10 in one sitting.

I wouldn't buy Duff Lite myself, but I wouldn't turn it down if someone offered it to me.

5. Duff Dry

My-oh-my Duff Dry!

I would buy this frequently, too. Princess Melawesome said it was her favorite of the 3 Duffs. She helped me eat the burger and the ribwich as well!

I'm not sure what other beer to compare it too. It tastes like other "dry" beers I've had. All I can say is that it's really good.

I would love to go back and try some more of the defictionalized foods from downtown Springfield, but that will have to wait until I've paid off this trip.

The Whole Shabang! Taste test review.

I don't have much else to say about them.  They're vinegary. More vinegary than Ruffles All Dressed. But they're very, very good. I can see why people crave them.

I ordered a box of Cheesy Poofs from 1998.

They were awful!

That was one of the worst tastes I've had in my mouth in a long time.

It tasted kinda dusty and kinda medicinal.

I do not recommend eating expired Cheesy Poofs.

Frosted Krusty O's Krusty Brand Cereal!

I did a new review!

This cereal came out as part of the promotion for the Simpson's movie. Back when they turned some 7-Elevens into Kwik E Marts. They had KrustyO's, pink Doughnuts, Squishees, and Buzz Cola (which Sir Mike got and gave one to me, and then I reviewed it!).


These KrustyO's tasted like stale Fruit Loops.

So not horrible.

Pez, Ecto Cooler, and Bill and Ted!

Here's my newest review!

I've loved Pez dispensers and candy for a long, long time.

I think it started with this:

In this one panel of Bill and Ted's Excellent Comic Book, issue 3 "Daze in the Life" by Evan Dorkin there is a mention of Pez.

I already liked Pez candy and dispensers, but when it was mentioned by Bill and Ted, who I was obsessed with (still am), Pez became part of that obsession.

I loved it so much that one year for Christmas at least half of my list was Pez-related!

I loved it so much I designed a Claudius Pez Dispenser T-shirt and put it up on the Ponder Couch Cafe Press store!

Soon after (like a day after) I got a Cease and Desist order from Pez to take it down. (I'm wearing the only one printed in the video!)

This panel added another food item to that obsession.

You can see it right in the middle of the panel.

A can of Ecto Cooler.

Man, do I love Ecto Cooler.

I hope they never discontinue it again.

I still also love Pez and Bill and Ted.

"Things I Can't Explain" - I read a book!

I read a book!

It's called "Things I Can't Explain" and it's by Mitchell Kriegman.

It's a sequel to the television series "Clarissa Explains It All".

That's why it's called "Things I Can't Explain". Clarissa's older now and she realizes she doesn't know everything like she...


Let me back up.


Queen Melawesome (formerly Princess Melawesome) and I recently watched the first few episodes of "Clarissa Explains It All" and, as I do with all nostalgic things, I looked up stuff about it on the internet!

I found out some interesting things about the history of the show and also that the guy who made up Clarissa in the first place wrote a book about her as a 20-something!

So I looked up the book at my library and read it!


It's pretty good!

I was a fan of the show, but not a mega-huge fan. So I remember some stuff about the show, but not as much as I remember about, say, Roger Rabbit.

The book touched on everything I remember and like about the original series. It explains what's been going on with her parents, brother, Sam, Elvis, etc. in ways I found quite satisfactory. It also included the ill-fated made-for-TV-movie (that was supposed to kickoff a new TV series) "Clarissa Now".

There are also a few references to "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" which Melissa Joan Hart (who played Clarissa) also starred in as Sabrina.

Like I wrote a few paragraphs ago. It's good! I enjoyed it. It's a lot like the original show, but more adult.

Yep, Clarissa now swears, drinks, worries about adult stuff, and has had sex. But there are still plenty of charts, rambling monologues, and references to current pop culture!

The story is all about Clarissa trying to get a new job, contemplating a lost love, dealing with an ex, her parents, brother, and a possible new boyfriend.

The only parts that weren't for me were all of the descriptions of the fashion choices of various characters and a cringe-worthy conversation with Ferguson (her brother).

If you were a fan of the show, and don't mind a little cursing, drinking, and sex, I suggest you check it out!
