Max Explains: Transformers!

Here is the first of what I hope will be a series of Youtube shorts staring Max! He's my Muppet Monster I got from FAO Schwarz's Muppet Whatnot Workshop... which I just found out has been closed for a while. Crap.

Soooooo, I guess you can't make your own Muppet. At least not right now.

In this episode of "Max Explains" Max tells you all you need to know about the show "Transformers".

Enjoy! Share! Etc!

I guess you could say Max is "my pet monster".

Day 246 - Geeking Out on Properties - 9/4/2015

Missed a few days.

Here goes some catch-ups.

Today's (Friday's) Thing-a-Day Thing is a list of 10 things I am obsessed with and would buy everything related to it if I had the money and space to display/store it.

(all pictures from google image searches)

1. Bozo the Clown!

I used to watch Bozo the Clown on WGN every day before school. My Bozo was Joey D'Auria.

The reason I became obsessed with Bozo was because I liked the show and Bart Simpson idolized Krusty the Clown.

I love the Simpsons so I wanted to be like Bart and "idolize" Bozo the Clown!

2. The Simpsons.

I mean, who isn't still obsessed with the Simpsons?

3. Bill and Ted!

Loved the cartoon, got this shirt, watched and loved the movies, cereal, comics, and horrible live action TV series!

Look forward to the sequel!

4. Ghostbusters!

Loved the cartoon. Loved the toys. Miss Ecto Cooler like crazy! Watched the movies 10 million times. Have enjoyed the games and any other merch I've consumed recently.

Love the idea of the new movie!

Hopefully there will be lots and LOTS of new merch!

I loved Filmation's Ghostbusters, too!

5. He-Man!

One of my first obsessions! I loved this cartoon with all of my heart. I saw the Secret of the Sword in theaters and loved it. I saw the live action movie and loved it (even though it's kind of terrible and not much like the cartoon). I had many of the toys, but I never got the Slime Pit or the Fright Zone. :(

I have enjoyed the newest cartoon and the handful of the new comics that I've read.

I hope another live action movie gets made, this time with Orko!

6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

As with the Simpsons, I think pretty much everybody around my age was in love with, and still is in love with, all thing Turtles!

I didn't hate the new movie, but I miss everything they changed/left out.

7. Roger Rabbit!

I've covered my love for Roger before.

8. My Pet Monster!

Again, see other posts!

9. All of the old Nick Toons!

I miss them all!

This extends to all of the old Nick programming, too.

10. Calvin and Hobbes!

If you've followed the Ponder Couch at all, you've likely read about my great love of all thing Calvin and Hobbes.

That's it!

There are many other things I'm obsessed with (Peanuts comics, all kinds of bands, Tiki culture, Homestar Runner...), but I said I was going to list 10, and these are the first 10 I thought of!

And there is always the WISHLIST!

More My Pet Monster!

I meant to post the lyrics of the My Pet Monster song in yesterday's post.

I'll post them now.

That's little me in the picture above.

Consider this post a poem instead of lyrics. I think it works.

MY PET MONSTER

Yes please come in, come in!
Thank you for attending
this private viewing of my collection
of oddities and curiosities from all around the world.

Here you will see my gallery
my Addams, Gorey, and Grimly,
but that's for the general public to see
let's travel further down.

Venture down the spiral staircase
where my artifacts are stored.
Yes some are quite illegal
but certain laws must be ignored.
To house such priceless treasures
one cannot afford
to play by the rules that uncultured men adore.

I have voodoo dolls and shrunken heads
reanimated limbs from the living dead
and gore-stained sheets stolen from the beds
of the newly exorcised.

An over here is a queer little piece of history
a shackled box shrouded in mystery.
It seems the only skeleton key
is the blood of men who lie.

And speaking of blood...
please don't mind the floors.
The red-brown spotting, the visceral smell,
and where the wood is scored
as if by someone's fingernails
as they were dragged behind the door.
It seems this evening's true purpose
can no longer be ignored!

My Pet Monster
need something to eat
it's a pity
but you're within reach.
His tummy is rumbly
and Kibble just won't do
when what he's got the munchies for
is you.

As his teeth grind your bones
for his daily bread
I ignore your screams of agony
and soon you'll be dead!

My Pet Monster
can not be restrained.
His hunger cannot
be contained.
The death of the innocent
is my one regret.
He's a monster,
but he's still my pet.

I'm pretty proud of these words. I think I wrote a solid little story here. It works as a poem, song, or prose.

Please share either form of it if you think somebody else might enjoy it.

Day 190 - My Pet Monster!!! - 7/9/2015

Today's Thing-a-Day Thing is My Pet Monster!

My Pet Monster was one of my favorite toys growing up. I still have my original, a newer talking version, and lots of other My Pet Monster merch.

I love My Pet Monster so much I insisted on doing an episode of the BCast about the terrible My Pet Monster movie (which I had my parents rent so many times when I was a child that they could've bought the tape 50 times over).

I also wrote and recorded a song about him!

I still think that video should've gone viral...

You can download the song here: JUST CLICK ON THESE WORDS!

Day 123 - Bcast Drinking Game!

Today's Thing is a Drinking Game for this podcast:

Here is the BCastCult with Mike and Mal Drinking Game!

Take 1 Drink if:

* There is a guest.
* Someone burps or clears their throat.
* Someone says "boobs".
* Someone talks to a pet.
* You can hear a train go by.

- Mike
* Says a film is "fun for the whole family"/
* Says "blah blah blah".
* Says "that's neither here nor there".

- Mal
* Says "Mmm-hmmm."
* Mentions another podcast.
* Mentions her Twitch Channel.

Take 2 Drinks if:

* Mike or Mal is not on the episode (that's 4 Drinks for the My Pet Monster Episode!)
* Geoff or another regular is on the episode.
* Someone mentions falling asleep during the featured movie.

Take 3 Drinks if:

* Someone says a phrase that ends up on a BCast t-shirt.
* There is an interview in the episode.

Finish Your Drink If:

* Joe from Harley Poe is on the episode.
* Mike and/or Mal start getting political.
* Someone says to edit something out.

That's it! That's the game!

I could add more stuff, but this is more than enough to get you drunk enough that you won't remember how the podcast ends.

Please to enjoy the BCast!

For you AVGN/Cinemassacre fans, this is my Giant Claw

You know what I'd like to get my grubby, grabby, midwestern hands on?

That!

I want that puppet from the CoCo Wheats commercial!

Don't remember it? Let's see if I can find it again on youtube...

Found it! But it won't let me embed. Click Here to see the commercial!

I loved/hated this commercial growing up! I was enthralled by, but kind of afraid of the "ugly" CoCo Wheats puppet. I watched the commercial with fear and fascination just waiting for and dreading the moment that the horrible bowl of dark, putrid evil leaped to center screen!

And I wanted it. I wanted to own that horribly ugly puppet. I hoped that it was available as a "special offer", back of the box premium, but no such luck.

I never ate oatmeal or cream of wheat for breakfast, I was more of an open-faced pb and honey sandwitch sort of guy, but I would have gladly choked down several week's worth of slimey, grainy chocolate if it meant that I could send in a few boxtops and a check for shipping and handling to get a bowl of evil puppet! And I would've played with it every day and kept it in a place of honor next to my My Pet Monster. Sigh...

Just look at that thing

(I don't remember where I found this picture. It's been in my photos folder of awesome things for over a year. I got it off of google)

Look at it! It's like a Boglin

(image from wikipedia, through a google search)

I somehow wasn't aware of these growing up, but they go together like a ramma lamma lamma...

I would've been scared of Boglins, too. In fact, I might have been aware of them and so scared that I blocked out the memory.

I still want this silly thing. If anybody knows where it is, please let me know. I would love to own it, or at least see it in person some day.

It's not ugly. It's beautiful!

Monsters for Halloween Month!!!

General Mills did an interview with me and wrote an article about me and the song I wrote last year about Monster Cereals!

Here it is! http://www.generalmills.com/ChannelG/YourStories/SethPederson.aspx?p=1

And here is the song:

And here is a bonus video! It's another song about a Monster!

Yay Halloween Month!
