Day 212 - A Good Eats Drinking Game That Would Kill You! - 8/1/2015

Saturday's Thing-a-Day Thing is a drinking game for this show:

I love "Good Eats". Princess Melawesome and I have been watching and rewatching and falling asleep to Good Eats episodes on DVD and Netflix for years. I love how it breaks cooking down to the science of it in a fun Bill Nye meets Pee-Wee's Playhouse kind of way.

In these years of watching I've noticed certain rhythms, running jokes, etc. that can be fun or irritating depending on my mood.

Here are a few that you will now also start noticing, in drinking game form.

Oh, and a warning... If you actually play this drinking game, it will kill you.

Take a Drink:

1. Whenever Alton says "Uh", "Um", or any other silence fillers that speech and drama teachers try to drum out of you. These happen a lot.

2. Whenever Alton does a fake laugh. The kind of "heh, heh, heh" laugh that indicates that he thinks he is doing something naughty.

3. If Shirley (a food scientist)

or Chuck  (Alton's neighbor)

are in the episode.

They are my favorite recurring characters. They are the only characters that Alton is completely nice to all the time. They deserve a drink in their honor.

I guess he's pretty nice to the lady of the fridge, too, kind of...

Finish Your Drink:

1. When Alton tricks someone, pulls something over on someone, or makes someone look like a moron. It happens at least once an episode.

2. Whenever someone mentions New York City and everyone around them exclaims "New York City?!?!?! like in the Pace Salasa commercials.

This was funny once.

Funny is a matter of opinion, I know, but finishing a drink makes it much easier for me to swallow this joke.

3. Whenever he pulls out a shoddy prop (by which I mean it looks like I made it instead of a prop master for a professional television show), or points out that a prop or costume is recycled from a previous show.

Except for the chicken.

That chicken is awesome.

That's it! Follow these instructions and die!

Or don't. You could just watch the show and enjoy it. It's up to you.

Day 123 - Bcast Drinking Game!

Today's Thing is a Drinking Game for this podcast:

Here is the BCastCult with Mike and Mal Drinking Game!

Take 1 Drink if:

* There is a guest.
* Someone burps or clears their throat.
* Someone says "boobs".
* Someone talks to a pet.
* You can hear a train go by.

- Mike
* Says a film is "fun for the whole family"/
* Says "blah blah blah".
* Says "that's neither here nor there".

- Mal
* Says "Mmm-hmmm."
* Mentions another podcast.
* Mentions her Twitch Channel.

Take 2 Drinks if:

* Mike or Mal is not on the episode (that's 4 Drinks for the My Pet Monster Episode!)
* Geoff or another regular is on the episode.
* Someone mentions falling asleep during the featured movie.

Take 3 Drinks if:

* Someone says a phrase that ends up on a BCast t-shirt.
* There is an interview in the episode.

Finish Your Drink If:

* Joe from Harley Poe is on the episode.
* Mike and/or Mal start getting political.
* Someone says to edit something out.

That's it! That's the game!

I could add more stuff, but this is more than enough to get you drunk enough that you won't remember how the podcast ends.

Please to enjoy the BCast!

Parker Lewis Can't Lose: the Drinking Game!

I found a thick little travel notebook in a box the other day. We kept it in our car and started using it around 2009-2010 and it was full of grocery lists, doodles, and pre-us-having-a-smart-phone google map directions we'd jotted down for various excursions and purposes.

It also had this:

It's a drinking game Princess Melawesome and I came up with for "Parker Lewis Can't Lose"!

If you are not familiar with PLCL you, my friend, are missing out! It was a lot like "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and most likely a ripoff of it (there was a Ferris TV show, but I haven't seen it), but that doesn't change the fact that I love this show. It was about Parker who was popular, had a couple best buds, a conniving younger sister, and a principal who was out to get him. It was more silly than Ferris. It had a heightened reality feeling (somewhat like "Wonder Falls" and "Pushing Daisies") that made it the kind of show that I wish I had on DVD on my shelf. (I don't). It also had Abraham Benrubi who I've thoroughly enjoyed in other roles in other shows and movies.

You can read more about it here!

Now on to the Drinking Game!

This was written down by Princess Melawesome. I don't remember coming up with it, so I'm going to say she made up! Thus she gets the by line picture at the bottom! (which I've only gotten to use once before).

Here it is:

Finish Drink
- When we see a celebrity.

2 Drinks
- Kubiac says "Eat Now?".

1 Drink
- Parker says "Buds"
- Musso's glass (in her door) breaks
- We hear Jerry's Velcro-rip sound
- Mikey pulls out a guitar
- Frank references the Army
- Shelly says "Brother!"
- Musso gets pervy

That's it! It might not seem like much, but all of these things happen enough that they are plenty for drinking purposes.

P.S. You can adapt these to exercise sets if you're not the drinking kind. i.e. 5 Jumping Jacks instead of 1 Drink, 10 Push-ups instead of 2 Drinks, etc.
