New Fisher Price Music Box Record Player song!

I made this song with the Fisher Price Record Player software made by fred27. You can download it HERE!!!!!

I fully intended to turn it into an actual Fisher Price record and have it available at my Shapeways 3D print store.

But my openscad software isn't working properly.

I'll make the physical record available and change this text if I can get it to work again.

Here's the video of my other Fisher Price Music Box Record Player song:

Anybody interested in a full album of music box songs? I sure like writing them.

Single Rider! a new song

"Single Rider" is a song inspired by a recent trip to Disney World. I saw a lot of Single Rider Lines there, and that sounded really sad.

But I got the idea for the song from them!

I tried to make it sound a bit like Buddy Holly and other love songs about theme parks and rides and things like that.

I'm pretty happy with it.

I hope you love it.

I finally recorded it today:

"This Wheel" my entry to the 2016 Tiny Desk Concert Contest!

Hey, guess what!

I entered last year with what I think is one of my best songs! They put it on the official tumblr and said some nice things about it.

This year's song isn't as good.

From the youtube description:

"This is my submission to NPR's 2016 Tiny Desk Concert Contest!

Lyrics:

This wheel is a-turning
through snow and sleet and hail
this wheel is a-turning
over broken glass and nails.

This wheel is a-turning
'cuz that's what wheels do.
This wheel is a-turning, baby
but not back to you!

This fire is a-burning
with a flame so bright.
The wind and rain won't snuff it out
it flickers through the night.

This fire is a-burning
with a flame so pure and true
this fire is a-burning, honey
in spite of you!

This heart is a-yearning
for a love so deep and sweet
a love to set it racing
and make it skip a beat.

This heart is a-yearning
but I guess that's nothing new.
This heart is a-yearning, sweetheart
but it won't break over you.

This wheel is a-turning, baby
watch it roll away from you!

This song started out as an attempt to write a song with the rhythmic feeling of "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash, but as I started writing lyrics it just became a pile of song cliches. It felt right.

I hope you all love it, and it helps you learn to love again!"

I know I won't win, but I figure it doesn't hurt to try!

Plus I had the new song written.

And it was fun last year.

And it might get my other videos a few more views.

Day 290 - I'm Not Your Type (an original song!) - 10/19/2015

I uke today for the Thing-a-Day Thing:

This is as political as I feel like getting most of the time.

From youtube:

A song about the difference between me and some other people!

Lyrics:

It's easy to look like a loser
when the Lord has blessed me with this face
The people with unfortunate features
often find themselves in the last place.

It's easy to feel like a moron
when this was the skin I was born in.
It's an itchy, pale, and uncoordinated mess.
With blackish-blueish elbows, knees, and shins.

It's easy to be mistaken for an asshole
I'm required by my job to dress this way.
I may not agree with your politics
but I defend your right to say the stupid,
hurtful, racist, homophobic, idiotic shit
you're bound to say.

Day 182 - The Charles Phoenix Test Kitchen Theme Song! - 7/1/2015

Today's Thing-a-Day Thing is a fan-song I wrote for the Charles Phoenix Test Kitchen!

If you are unfamiliar with Charles Phoenix, please acquaint yourself!

From the youtube description:

Here is the UNofficial UNauthorized fan-made theme song I wrote for the Charles Phoenix Test Kitchen! (https://www.youtube.com/user/charlesphoenixusa)

Charles Phoenix is my favorite celebrity cook. If he ever sees this video, I hope he loves it.

Lyrics:

In the Charles Phoenix Test Kitchen
it's his culinary mission
to put the kitsch back in tradition
with every dish that he prepares!

He's sure to make you wanna
add a dash of Americana
just like your dear Grandmama
to your sweet and savory fare!

He's a cookie
within a pie
within a cake!

(whistle, poorly)

In the Charles Phoenix Test Kitchen
it's his culinary mission
to put the Kitsch back in tradition
so let's see what he's prepared!

That's all I have to say about that.

Christmas at the Ponder Couch!

Santa Buddy, slip a Lightsaber under the tree, for me

been an awful good geek, Santa buddy,
so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Buddy, an 81 Delorean too,

Trash fueled
A Mr. Fusion on top.

Santa buddy, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the mercy I’ve shown
To all the stupid noobs that I could’ve pwned.

If you help my collection grow
I’ll help you jailbreak your new smart phone.

Santa Buddy, Time and Relative

Dimension in Space, is the place

Keep the Weeping Angels at bay.
Santa Buddy, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Partner, there’s one thing I really do need,

Indeed

A gold pressed Latinum pile

Santa partner, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa studly, fill my stocking with a Holodeck,

And next
put the Deathly Hollows inside,

Santa studly, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Come and trim my Christmas tree,
With geeky decorations bought off of etsy.

I’ll really take great responsibility,
with the great power that you’ll give me,

Santa buddy, forgot to mention one little thing,
A ring.
One to rule them all,
Santa buddy, so hurry down the chimney tonight,
Shimmy down the chimney tonight,
Hurry, tonight.
