sethifus, MisterSeth, and a cover...

Let's catch back up!

I wrote a new song!

I tried to write a round, but I wrote different words for each part. I don't know if that's still a round or if it's called something else. The tune is the same for each part... roughly.

Next!

It'd been way too long since I recorded a MisterSeth song.

This one is the way a child I used to teach would sing this song. She'd combine the two and I thought it was genius!

So... here it is.

Finally!

This is one of my FAVORITE Caspar Babypants songs!

I wanted to do a MisterSeth cover of it, closer to the original song, but it didn't work out.

So I made a sethifus version instead!

I'm sort of trying to channel Elvis here, kinda.

That's it!

Oh, and this picture makes me really, really happy and I don't know why.

Somebody posted it on facebook, and I've been smiling about it ever since. I don't know who made it or else I'd credit them.

He just looks so happy. And his smile kinda reminds me of a friend of mine from elementary school.

Day 346 - Hi Sam - 12/12/2015

Today's Thing-a-Day is a cover of a song from "Clarissa Explains It All"!

My own Princess Melawesome Joan Hart took lead vocals on this one.

We just started watching CEIA on Hulu. It's so full of pop culture references! I'm surprised.

I mean, Clarissa mentions They Might Be Giants in the first few minutes of the first episode!

Day 235 - Yakity Sethsaphone! - 8/25/2015

Monday came and went.

I got behind again.

Yesterday's Thing-a-Day Thing is my sethsaphone cover of Yakity Sax!

I'm so good at playing the sethsaphone!

Now what to make for today's Thing...

Day 222 - It's a Sin to Tell A Lie! - 8/11/2015

Today's Thing-a-Day Thing is my cover of the song "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie"!

Here's the description from youtube:

I like how the title is a pattern of upper and lower case first letters!

I like this song a lot. I hope you like my rendition! (even with the mistakes!)

I love it when I get to play the sethsaphone on a song.

I'm going to post what it says on wikipedia about it, too,  because youtube wouldn't let me tag all of the artists mentions in the article:

"It's a Sin to Tell a Lie" is a 1936 popular song by Billy Mayhew. Originally introduced by Fats Waller on the 78 rpm record Victor 20-1595,[1] it was revived in 1955 by Somethin' Smith and the Redheads, reaching #7 on the Billboard charts in that year. It was later a Top 40 Country hit for Slim Whitman, reaching #21 on the Top Country Singles chart in 1971, from the album of the same name. John Denver tells a story about the song and does a cover in his 1978 album, Live at the Sydney Opera House (RCA Victor VPL1-7167).[2] Other artists who have recorded versions include Billie HolidayThe Ink SpotsTony BennettBobbi MartinGerry MonroeBrent SpinerLenny BreauBuddy Greco,Steve GoodmanThe Quebe Sisters BandAnn BreenJerry Murad and the HarmonicatsBobby VintonPatti PageVera Lynn, and George Maharis.
Originally a waltz, during the British Dixieland Revival in the 1950s and 1960s this melody was often played in fast four/four tempo, notably recorded by the Kenny Ball Band.

I hope you love it!

Day 205 - Suffocate! (originally by Green Day) - 7/24/2015

A day late is better than a buck short.

Today's (yesterday's) Thing-a-Day Thing is my acoustic, kinda countrified version of Green Day's song "Suffocate". It's a B-side or a rarity or something like that.

I tried to sing it as good as I could. I hope you don't hate it!

I took it a half-step down so I could play it with acoustic guitar chords.

Please share it with someone you care about. Or someone who suffocates you. Or something...

Halloween and Death walk hand in hand!

Here's a cover song I did! It was originally by Harley Poe (http://harleypoe.com/) and it's about Death! Death the character. I like Harley Poe a lot. They're my favorite band that sings about horror movies and awful things.

The Jack-o-Lantern sculpture in the video was hand-crafted by the lead singer of Harley Poe: Joe Whiteford (http://joewhiteford.blogspot.com/) . You can find more things he made for sale here: http://joewhiteford.storenvy.com/

Happy Halloween Month!

Halloween is coming...
