Here's a quick poem before today is at an end
to help you drift to dreaming, take comfort friend,
the day was long, but good, and work was not at hand
and filled with things wonderful or hard to understand.
But now you rest your eyes, your mind, your voice, your hands, yourself,
your breathing is less frequent, you're thick in slumber's wealth.
As you drift I hope you think of happy things, of waves and sand, palm trees,
of swimming suits and melting drinks, of reclining and me.
