Day 167 - Pumpkins! 136 Days! - 6/16/2015

Today I noticed that this year's pumpkins have started to grow!

Last year I did a big post about my first batch of pumpkins.

Several days ago I did a small post about the countdown to Halloween.

Today's Thing-a-Day Thing is a mix of the two!

Only 136 more days! And when most of you see this it'll be 135 more days!

And even fewer days until Halloween Month! The most wonderful time of the year!

But first: fireworks!

Pumpkins A-Poppin'!

Princess Melawesome and I spent a good portion of this afternoon making pumpkin treats. Here's how she portrayed it:

She made a pumpkin Rice Krispis Treat.

It was pretty awesome!

I made pumpkin struesel muffins.

Trust me, they don't taste as crappy as they look.

We also got a pumpkin-shaped bottle of pumpkin-scented hand soap from JoAnn Fabrics. Seen here next to a pumpkin I grew in my backyard pumpkin patch.

And finally I harvested two more pumpkins today!

October (and Halloween!) will be here soon...

Pumpkin Patch

It's Autumn!

For a hundred-some days I've been growing pumpkins in my backyard.

 I have harvested 3!

That was the first one... up above there by the mixer. I'm pretty proud of them. I plan to carve them into jack-o-lanterns, saving some seeds, roasting some seeds, and just having an awesome Halloween season. I highly recommend it.

Last year I wrote a song about autumn, pumpkins, and harvesting them and stuff.

It's a pumpkin carol! You can buy it on my album of original holiday songs "Holy Days"!

You can buy it here! Click on one of those words and you'll find it! Or maybe the picture. I've never put a link in a picture before so I don't know if it worked.

Halloween is coming!
