Ecto Cooler!!!!

Ecto Cooler

I have pined for Ecto Cooler since I first realized that I didn't see it around any more. After Googling it too many times, I resigned myself to the idea that I'd never have it again.

Then there were rumors of Ghostbusters 3... then Ghostbusters games came out on all the major video game systems and I started to hope that maybe Hi-C would bring it back and I could drink it again... but no.

Earlier this week I saw on Topless Robot's twitter feed that a group called Ghostbusters: Chicago Division posted a video with a recipe for Ecto Cooler!

Well I grabbed a pen and jotted it down!

In case you can't read it, here's a link to the G:CD Ecto Cooler page with the ingredients.

I traveled all over Indy searching for each ingredient. I went to 3 Targets, a Whole Foods, a couple Marshes, and a Kroger before I found everything.

I mixed up a pitcher of the good green glory:

But I wasn't quite ready. I had to make the proper drinking vessel for such a liquid link to the past:

And then I drank.
It's pretty good. If that's not what Ecto Cooler used to taste like, it's close enough to satisfy this geek's nostalgic thirst.

Oh, here's the video from which I got the recipe:

Mix, drink, enjoy!

I know, you know that I'm not telling the truth....

This book's okay...

I enjoyed it over-all, but it suffered from the same problems I have with most book additions to television series: it feels like pretty good fan fiction. It's not a bad story, it just doesn't feel canon. I don't know if this happens because it's just one writer working on it instead of a room or if the stories just feel different in a text medium instead of a multimedia presentation.

If you're a fan of the Psych TV show and are all caught up on current episodes, you could pass your time in worse pursuits. Indy's public library has the other 3 books so I'll probably read them eventually... after I finish reading the 2 shelves, double stacked with my "to reads".

Sega Stuff episode 5

Sega Stuff episode 5 is here! It's taken longer than it should have, because there were technical difficulties, and you'll still hear a rather annoying echo in this episode. That aside, please enjoy!

Mike's Serious.

Zooey Deschanel Doesn't Deserve This....

So "Yes Man"... it's kinda like "Click" and an awful lot like "Liar, Liar"... I liked it better than "Click" but would need to watch "Liar, Liar" again to pass judgement. I liked "Liar, etc" better when I first saw it than I liked "Yes, Sir" when I just watched it a few days ago, but I was so much younger then.

All-in-all I liked it better than I thought I would. I recommend it to anyone who likes Jim Carrey movies. Or Zooey Deschanel... or Luis Guzman.
