Today's Thing-a-Day Thing is a drawring I did of myself in my MisterSeth getup, playing guitar!

Day 268 - Another Scared Monster! - 9/26/2015
Today's Thing goes with yesterday's!
I added a tune to yesterday's poem and now it's a song! I plan to make many different monster pictures to make a video for it. I won't subject you to all of them as Thing-a-Day Things, but I might put one in here and there as I make them.
If I do get the video made, that will most likely be a Thing-a-Day Thing.

Today's Thing-a-Day is a would-be MisterSeth song!
It's all about monsters being scared.

When Monsters get scared
what do they do?
Do their eyes tear up?
Do they cry Boo Hoo?
Do they growl and grunt
and get ready to fight?
Do they bare their fangs
and take a bite?
Do they hide their eyes
and cover their head?
Do they cower in the closet
or dive under the bed?
Do they shiver and shake?
Do they quiver and quake?
Do they get a sudden stomach ache?
Do they run away?
Do they scare you back?
Do they spill their salty monster snacks?
Do they laugh and say "hey that was neat!"?
Or trip over their stinky monster feet?
I'd like to know what a monster would do.
So the next time you see one yell out a "Boo!"

Day 261 - Company and Conversation: A Drive - 9/19/2015
Today's Thing-a-Day Thing:
I've had this idea for a while now, to make videos where I talk to the camera like it's a friend of mine. Short < 5 minute videos. Calm conversation. Nothing too exciting.
The idea is that people could watch it when they're feeling lonely or blue or just need something quiet and kind. Like a Bob Ross video.
I'm testing it out. Here is the first video. I have a few more planned.
I'm putting ads on these videos. I hate ads on youtube and the internet in general, but I do like the idea of making money off of something I make.

I was bored this morning and doodled on a napkin. I started by writing my name. Then I drew the little guy. Then I added a hill. And finally I turned the hill into another guy.
I quite like this doodle. I think I'd like to use it professionally some day.

Day 254 - Turnip Jack-o-Lantern - 9/12/2015
I've read a couple of places that the original Jack-o-Lanterns were made of turnips and other more-common vegetables than pumpkins.
So I made one as today's Thing!
I read that it's better to cut the bottom off than the top, so I did that.
I scooped out the insides with a teaspoon. It smelled very earthy.
It ended up smaller than I thought it would.
I set it on a tea light candle.
But the more I put the turnip around the candle, the less oxygen it got and it started to go out.
I think it turned out pretty cool for my first turnip Jack-o-Lantern. The site I read said that it will only last 3 to 5 days.
I was hoping it would last until Halloween.
So I made one as today's Thing!

Day 251 - Wayward Little Soot Sprite (a poem) - 9/9/2015
Today's Thing:
Wayward Little Soot Sprite
Floating near the roof
darkening the corners
and giving me the proof
of other things out there
of which we're unaware
behind the ceiling fan blades
and underneath the stairs.
It's gently floating downwards
and wafting about my head
filling me with wonder
excitement and some dread.
For Soot Sprites only stick around your house
if you're not good at heart.
To mock, bother, and torment you
and tear your house apart.
But it just keeps on floating
and bobbing up and down
tapping up against the texturing
and skimming o'er the ground.
I guess it just wants to hang out
take a break, relax
nestled on the Couch
and eating Soot Sprite snacks.
I quite like the little guy
and our time, together spent
I quite like his company,
but wish he'd pay more rent.
